Guru Pooja

INSPIRING LETTERS

Om Tatsat

The ignorance of the real forms of the self, of this world and of the Supreme Existence is the root cause of such thoughts and reflections which are natural till the body identification and allied false illusions and delusions are alive and active. Semi-realized noble souls feel very uncomfortable and worried about the natural adverse, awful happenings and miseries etc. of the world because of their pure and noble heart. Out of their overwhelming mercy for the humanity or all living beings, they forget that this indescribable eternal world has been always the same with some minor changes of times, regions and actors. All the incarnations of the god like Raam, Krishna, Shankar, Buddha, Christ etc. tried their best to eradicate such dark miseries, vicious activities, crimes, destructions and cruelties of the world and did it with immense efforts with their full power. But the effect remained for some time only and these all prevailed again as were before and, more or less, it is still the same. Why ? Because this is the illusionary manifestation of opposites depending upon each other. The divinity, light , knowledge, mercy or any other divine quality could not have any value or importance if there had been no existence of its opposite like evils, dark, ignorance or the sins etc.. The positive needs negative also for some modification and its existence. This fact is not easily intelligible by the worldly intellect, alike so many other subtle facts, that the pair of opposites is necessary for sprouting and existing.

The scriptures, seers and sages have described this world in many various ways to make it understandable to the aspirants. Some have described that this world is a dream of the universal conscious existence and is just like our dream. The others have described it as the recreative play or picture of the god just like a movie we enjoy in the theatre. Every thing of this world is always changing and perishing after its appearance. Nothing is perpetual here just like nothing of a dream. The Vedanta philosophy says that there is no other than Parbrahma all alone, just like calm and quiet boundless unfathomable ocean and all the beings , cautious and non-cautious, are like the innumerous waves of the ocean ( i.e. exclusive non-duality). Entire names and forms of this world are His waves, based on, arising out and merging in Him only just as in the ocean. He himself adopts or becomes all the names and forms called this world. These all versions are not intelligible till the complete realization of the Supreme Absolute.

There is none and never can be any one an atheist, because no one can deny his own existence. Who ever admits his own existence is a theist, never an atheist, because the pure self, quite free from the illusions and delusions of the Maayaa (names and forms) is the God or Atma Himself. Till the body-ego and slavery of the names and forms (because we can not run our lives without using these both) is existing, this is always the best and most desirable to help the needy and suffering people and aspirants remaining absolutely selfless, non-doer and hoping or desiring nothing in return, considering this work the service of the Lord only. The Initiation for Kundalini awakening is very rare. It is not so easy to prepare or find the capable aspirant for this initiation now a days. This may be done following my instructions only if you can prepare or find some stout deserving aspirant starving for self realization and salvation only.

“OM SHRI PARMATMNE NAMAH”
“NITTYAM SHUDDHA NIRAABHAASAM NIRAAKAARAM NIRANJANAM
NITTYABODH CHIDAANANDAM GURURBRAHMA NAMAAMYAHAM”

(I bow to the lotus feet of my Guru who is always crystal-clear, unimaginable, formless, untainted, perpetual knowledge, bliss and conscience absolute.)
My dear aspirants,

Today we have gathered here to celebrate “Gurupoojaa” and worship our Gurudeva. This auspicious day is celebrated every year on the full moon day called Poornimaa of Hindi colender month Ashaadha, mostly falling in the English month of July.

Great Saint and Yogi, son of “Sattyavati and Maharishi Paaraasher”, an incarnation of God, Maharishi Krishnadwaipaayan Vyaas wrote interpretations on Vedas and Upnishadas and compiled philosophy of Vedanta. Additionally, he wrote Puranas and many other spiritual, philosophical and holy books, which are like unlimited and unfathomable perpetual ocean of knowledge. His works and creations have guided and helped mankind and divinity-seekers beyond any description. To pay respects and to acknowledge our indebtedness, as a small tribute to him, this day of “Vyaas-poojaa” was adopted in his memory. The same day is celebrated as “Gurupoornimaa for Guru-Poojaa” till now. Importance and role of Guru in learning the divine science of spirituality, salvation and bliss absolute is well accepted and established. Therefore, this day is extremely important and significant for spirituality and divinity seekers.

Parabrahma Parmaatmaa or absolute universal consciousness is infinite, omnipresent, omnipotent and base of entire creation. As such, the ways and paths to realize or achieve Him have been always and still are many folds. Although every aspirant always praises and preaches the same path or cult which is favorable to him and awarded him the success in achieving the goal of realizing the absolute. Despite of this, the fact remains that our this path of “Kundaliniawakening” through “Shaktipaat-initiation” is a very unique yoga and science, which is also referred to and described as “Siddha-Yoga or Sahaj-Yoga”. The uniqueness of this Yoga science is that as soon as the Kundalini of some genuine aspirant disciple is awakened by a competent Guru through his touch, speech, vision or mere resolve, the disciple gains divine experiences beyond worldly ones in a very short period of time. Achievements of such or similar divine experiences through the practice of any other method and approach takes much longer time up to years or even births. The Kundalini of some extremely persevering Sadhaks awakens itself automatically without the grace of any Sadguru. Such Sadhak also has divine experiences or achievements being the results of his efforts and Sadhana performed in his previous life of births, since the efforts made in this direction are non-destructible and are carried forward till the goal is achieved. The ultimate and definitive goal of awakening Kundalini is attaining Moksha or salvation only i.e. liberation from the most painful cycle of birth and death.

On this pious occasion of Gurupoornima, it is worth considering and assessing our progress towards the supreme goal of attaining self-realization. Though it is a matter of deep self-inspection and decision only, after thorough examination, even then it is heard and learnt that in most cases the progress is either nil or very meager even after many years of initiation in Shaktipaat. Why is it so ? It is essential for every genuine aspirant to search out the reasons of this failure or very slow progress and root out them sincerely and resolutely. In my opinion, the root cause of this poor and unnoticeable advancement are : the lack of proper knowledge of this cult, the lack of our duties towards the same and also the ignorance of the real form of our Guru. Neither we understand this Sadhan properly, nor we are duty bound towards the same and nor we recognize the real form and element of Sadguru. Let us ponder over on this a bit.

Some fortunate Shadhaks, after having their Kundalini awakened, come across with a multitude of supernatural physical, metaphysical or mental divine experiences and brilliant charming visions or scenes. All those exhilarating, blissful and ecstatic experience are mere tokens and indications of this Sadhan which enhence the faith and belief in this path. These achievements are never permanent being subject to change and disappearance. Therefore they should be regarded as momentary. Even then most of the Shadhaks flatter themselves with these negligible gains or achievements, become complacent and mistake these experiences to be their ultimate goal and achievement. Thus they become misguided and illusioned and loose track and sight of their final real destination. It is, therefore, very important to realize that while visualizing these charming, nice and gratifying experiences, remaining unattached to them all, the main purpose of purifying your inner consciousness needs to be carefully focused upon. Because awakening of Kundalini is mainly meant to cleans and purify one’s intellect and inner-self and dos not stop merely at such wonderful and charming scenes and observations. Be aware that self-realization (realization of God or salvation) is only possible with one’s fully cleansed and purified intellect with heart. No one, whose inner-self is full of ego, lust, greed, attachments, fear, anger and other multiple passions, can experience absolute bliss and self-realization even during thousands of births.

This is the first and foremost duty of a Shishya (disciple) to stay committed to his pursuit in a relentless manner. There is no room for lethargy and taking it easy in this intellectual cause of tremendous importance. Mostly and very often the “lack of time” excuse is used to explain discontinuity and sluggishness in Sadhan. To initiate an aspirant with poor resolve and determination is akin to putting butter on ashes. It is not likely to bring forth the desired results. Therefore this is misuse of Shakti. This Sadhan automatically commences and can be resumed any time and any where just by focusing the thoughts and attention on Kriya-Shakti. If it becomes quite impossible to do it with regularity and in a predetermined manner, it can be done while eating, drinking, walking and all light works when you perform routine chores not involving and engaging you intellectually very deep. As appropriate or necessary, you can control over physical (bodily) movements while letting your inner-self immerse in Sadhana. As such, the lack of time excuse is no more than self-deception. Greatest of irony is that we waste much of our time in pettiest of activities like light entertainments, useless conversations, gossips and amusements etc., but we have no time for the greatest and the sole purpose of our embodiment as human being.

There is very common misunderstanding about “Guru”. In this astral body both mortal Jeevaatmaa (egoistic existence) and Parmaatmaa (immortal soul) reside together like twins. Sadhan is utilized to effect complete change over and merger of the egoistic self-consciousness into the absolute consciousness (soul). Who-so-ever has been able to merge his / her egoistic conscious existence into absolute to a higher extent, is the superior Guru-Tattwa (Guru-element). Absolute blissful consciousness (Soul, Atmaa) is the ultimate Guru and Guru of all Guru’s. This resident Atmaa, substance or marrow in the mortal Guru, emanates and obliges the disciples by imparting its bliss. How any one, who himself is a mere captive in the astral body and subject to the eventuality of birth and death, can liberate somebody else to salvation ? As long as the disciple does not submerge the physical form of Guru (name, bodily appearance etc.) and establishes and visualizes in him the absolute conscious Atmaa, the real Guru, and concentrates in this aspect, his/her worship of Guru will not be complete, real or self or godrealizing. There are trustworthy assertions of the spiritual scriptures that in fact there is no seperation in reality between the guru and the disciple being one and the same in essence .

All this never means that Sadguru should not be worshiped. Shri Sadguru Pooja i.e. worship of Guru with full faith and devotion, is most essential for a disciple. All the above facts only mean that while visiting or worshipping the Sadguru, the worshipper must focus and aim on his real form or element Parmatama seated in him and not mere on his perishable body. The scriptures and the wise persons warn us that the worshipper will adopt the form of the worshipped deity at the perfection.of his devotional worship.

We are blessed to have gained access to such a wonderful and divine tool as Shaktipaat Yoga. It will be a great pity, wretchedness, sorrow and failure if we do not practice it to achieve self-realization and experience bliss absolute in this very birth. According to the prevailing traditions and norms, only Sadguru reserves the exclusive right to preach and deliver appropriate message to his disciples and followers, especially on this Gurupoornimaa. Even then to honor the request of affectionate friends, I have presented my views and suggestions to you. Apologies to non-Hindi speaking people. Exact expression of this subject matter in English is not flawless. I thank you all and pray almighty God to bestow upon all of us absolute bliss, enlghtenment and divinity. That’s all for the day. Iti Om,.

You are facing hard tests from last year and this is the time to examine the spiritual gains remaining stead fast in the real knowledge of the self you had achieved and mentioned in your several earlier letters. Be brave and stick to the reality that you are not mere a heap of flesh and bones, but you are the soul i.e. the knowledge of the self. Surrender yourself whole heartedly to the supreme consciousness and existence, which you are in reality. Never abandon your regular spiritual sadhana which is the best remedy of such worldly obstacles and sufferings. I hope that you will resume the same state of sadhana and will stand the real level of the earlier knowledge and experiences. With best wishes always,

* * * * * *

Perform all your outwardly duties very carefully and sincerely, remaining unattached inwardly i.e. in mind and heart. Never forget the main goal of this human birth. Keep this aim in your memory constantly, always remembering and praying the Almighty God to shower His grace. An extremely thirsty man remains in search of water till he gets it and quenches his thirst. Likewise, the real aspirant striving for salvation always keeps himself engaged in Sadhana internally till he achieves his goal completely, performing his all worldly duties very well. God helps him who helps himself faithfully and bravely. Never become despaired.

* * * * * *

Glad to note that you are doing your Sadhana regularly. This spiritual endeavour is just like a great war between the self and the illusion, ignorance and the sense-objects. It is not always smooth and easy. There are breakdowns and disturbances. The aspirant should not be disappointed with all these obstacles. Increase your firm determination and resolve during each break. The sleepless thoughtlessness is a good state of Sadhana. Do not think it in vain, but try to remain in the same as long as possible. Be courageous and firm determined to achieve the goal of life in this very birth. The almighty will help you surely removing your all obstacles. I am always with you in this spiritual battle.

* * * * * *

Whatever good or bad, pains or pleasures, friends or foes, relatives or neighbours, fames or defames we get in our life, these all are the results or fruits of our own good or bad acts which we have been doing since the time immemorial and numerous births. Remembering this reality, do not blame any other person for your own physical or mental sufferings and do not allow your equanimity to be disturbed due to such imaginary and temporary happenings or incidents. They all are like long dreams and fading gradually, will pass away some day or the other. I quite understand your difficulties that one who does not know his inner self, cannot adopt this easily. But there is no escape without practicing this firmly and regularly with full faith and belief of the success in due course. Become brave. Do not be despair from such things. I hope that you will overcome bravely all the ups and downs which normally come in the way of spiritual quest.

Regarding spiritual progress, mere reading or listening will not be sufficient and fruitful for self-realization or salvation. One has to practice rigorously and stick unshakably to the principles and realities preached there in. Read minutely, understand and follow the story of Sri Shukdeva – page 17 and 18 of the book “Yogavasisthasaar-Sangrah”. The well set and preached by all spiritual scriptures, masters and even incarnations is that we are not a heap of bones and flash, but are the part or image of the perpetual consciousness and the supreme existence absolute. He is not only present within us constantly in the form of pure witness i.e. Shakshi, but He is united also as the one and the same with us. All the thoughts and convictions contrary to this reality are to be threshed out forcibly all the times, as soon as they enter in our mind. This must be a regular and rigorous practice till the said fact is well rooted in our thoughts, mind and all the activities. “I am gripped and encaged in Maayaa and have to get rid of the same” is a negative vicious thought which must be threshed out as soon as it appears and must be replaced by this reality firmly: “I am not the body, ego, mind, senses or the organs etc., but am firmly immortal soul, knowledge and consciousness absolute just akin to the supreme Lord. This tedious battle of the two opposite knowledge’s may last long throughout the present birth and may continue even during the future births depending upon the efforts of the aspirant. But please note that till the sense of body-ego and identity, false and adverse knowledge of the self will exist, there is no chance of salvation (Mukti) at all even in the thousands of births. Remain firm and alert as above to turn yourself immortal soul from mortal body. And only you and you alone, can do this with your firm resolve and constant regular practice. My best wishes are always with you.

What about your spiritual research? This appears to be disturbed during this period. The black matter is clearly experienced during the deep sleep and its observer is no other then the “Self” called witness or the “Shakshi”. Individually it is called the sleep and universally it called the un-manifested nature or the “Mool Prakriti”. The causal body of all beings exists in this darkness which is the bunch or store-house of all the good or bad acts and deeds done during the past unknown innumerable births. As and when the fruits of the actions are ready for delivery, this causal body automatically converts into the dream-body or awakening-body (along with ego, intellect, mind & senses) according to the velocity of the acts and fruits and when this delivery is temporarily suspended, these all again merge back into the same causal body. No liberation from birth and death or “Moksha” is possible without destroying or at least conquering this causal body. The best and easiest ways to destroy this causal body are: (1)--Try hard to remain mere witness or “Shakshi” and never mix with it. (2)—Always go on searching: “Who am I, and what is the reality of this world appearing inside and outside and always changing? (3)—Regularly meditate on the real form of Parabrahma as described by the scriptures, metaphysicians and self-realized Guru. The ringing sound in your years, - if charming, rejoicing and helping in meditation,--is “Anahad Naada”, appearing rarely in lucky aspirants. It takes a lot of time for changing its tone as this is related to the states of “Samaadhi”. Concentration on it makes the mind vacant and helps in meditation. I hope this all will help you in your spiritual research. The entire spiritualism is like a huge mountain hidden behind a pebble or a huge Banyan tree existing in the smallest seed like mustered.

Blessed Rishi good or bad, paining or pleasing appears in front of us or occurs to us, inside or outside, through our thoughts or memories, is the fruit and reward of our own deeds which we have done since past numerous births till the present birth throughout. We have to face and thrash out these all bravely and patiently till they all are totally eradicated and our heart, mind and intellect becomes quite calm, pure, cluster clear from all these fruits and rewards of our own past deeds. The Real Self OR Supreme Bliss and Existence is perpetually within us and self-luminous like the sun. But as the sun disappears if is covered by the thick clouds, likewise our perpetual self-luminous own-self is covered by the thick clouds of the above mentioned results and rewards or fruits of our own deeds. As much these are diminished by regular efforts and practice of eradication, so much we will experience our calm and quiet absolute existence. The perfection of this is called the self-realization or liberation from births and deaths and becoming immortal. And this is the ultimate goal of this human life. I assure you that you will achieve this goal some day or the other. Do not become moved by the petty and momentary disturbances in your efforts and practice. Have heart, patience and courage and I am always with you in your endeavour.

* * * * * *

I am happy to know that you are doing your sadhana and meditation thrice a day regularly. Continue the same, increasing the time if possible. Your question: “How much time is required for self-realization and reach up the goal?” shows your high desire for the same. For this no specific time is mentioned in scriptures or by the metaphysicians. It is possible anytime, anywhere, instantly in this very birth or may take births all together. This depends upon the thickness of the ignorance and the amount of worldly desires created by our own good or evil acts done during the numerous past births. The aspirant must understand: “What is self realization?” Everybody knows that the “self” can never be separated or disappear from the “self.” This “self” is said akin and alike, perpetually united, with the self-luminous supreme one known by various names and forms. This omnipresent almighty is seated in this body of flesh and bones (the instrument of actions and the medium of reaping the fruits of our deeds i.e. pleasures or pains) in form of mere witness called “self or “I”. The ignorance of our real form is the root cause of all our sufferings, births and deaths. Our real form is covered by a very thick veil of ignorance and spiritual Sadhana and meditation is meant for removing off this veil, recognize the real form of the self and be seated in the same beyond all false and frivolous names and forms. And this is called “self-realization.” The burning fire of the knowledge of the real-self i.e. “I am not the mortal body of flesh and bones. Instead I am the soul: the Supreme one itself’- may tear out this veil of ignorance rapidly and bring the self-realization as soon as this determination becomes unflinchingly firm. I think this may satisfy you, though it is described in very short only. Hari Om Tatsat.

* * * * * *

For self-realization and to reach up to the goal of human life, mere remembering that “I am not the mortal body made of flesh and bones: instead I am the soul” is not sufficient. Its first part-- “I am not the mortal body made of flesh and bones”— is meant to exit out and experience the soul apart from the body. Second part —“Instead I am the soul”—is meant for grasping the real form of the soul, such as: quite pure, free from all worldly names and fames, omnipresent, omniscient etc. and change the self and the intellect accordingly. As a painting of fire can burn nothing, likewise without grasping this sense, fire of knowledge will remain mere showy and will not burn out the heaps of ignorance, desires and worldly attachments which are the root causes of bondage and main hindrance in self-realization. Remain only a witness for all happenings. I hope almighty divine power acting within you will manage everything in a manner necessary for you at the proper time. As such remain surrendered to her with full faith, devotion and belief. Keep your Sadhana on full swing. Be cautious that the achievements and experiences of this divine power should not be used for worldly purposes. This will drag the aspirant back from self-realization. You should mind your main aim of life and not indulge excessively in the perishable or momentary affairs.

* * * * * *

Scriptures reveal that attainment of the supreme consciousness or to attain the state of unity with God or to attain self-realization or the liberation from the vicious chain of birth and death, all are interconnected and are almost the one and the same. For this the qualification is mentioned in paragraph 2 of the Kundalini Awakening document. Wrong identification of the self i.e. body-ego, the illusionary knowledge of this always changing and perishable world and the ignorance of the supreme existence, bliss and consciousness are the main obstacles for the above aim. The real aspirant will have to detach himself fully (of course internally) from the sensual enjoyments, worldly desires and objects. He will have to draw himself in gradually for these attainments. There is no more agonizing and torturous hell in this universe than the ignorance of the self, of this world, and non-realization of the God. In absence of God-realization, this precious human birth will become wasted in vain.

* * * * * *

I heard about typhoons in your country and was much worried about you. You have become despaired and exhausted because of so many simultaneous hard-ships all of a sudden. This is the time to examine your own resistance against the worldly interruptions in the favour of spiritual quest for God-realization and liberation. You will have to become more and more brave and courageous to fight out all the worldly difficulties and barriers if you are sincerely and honestly determined to reach the real goal of your human birth, as you vowed prior to initiation. The present situation is just like an examining storm for judging your determination towards the self-chosen spiritual goal and is sure to pass away. God helps him only who helps himself. His (or my) help is always with you depending upon your unshakable faith and belief. My advice is that you should get through this hard examination and proceed further for achieving your determined aim of life and give up fully the idea of quitting. Moreover, now you are not independent for quitting being tied with the Guru. Gather your mind with courage and start your Sadhana again afresh as advised with full Belief, devotion and patience. God will help you surely. Keep me informing regularly avoiding abnormal long gaps.

* * * * * *

Physical movements are not essential after awakening. The main work of divine power is to purify the ego, the mind and the intellect. This purification takes its own time according to the amount of one’s good or bad acts done in past births. The aspirant must keep a keen watch on his innermost as to whether the ego, anger, attachment to the world, sensual pleasures and sense-objects are gradually diminishing or not. The extreme purity from all the worldly desires bestows self-realization and there after the realization of the supreme existence. If you plant a tree today, you cannot get its fruits immediately. You will have to save and nourish the plant and have patience for years. Likewise the fruit of liberation from birth and death i.e. immortality is not so cheap. The aspirant has to practice rigorous Sadhana regularly and have patience with full faith, devotion and unflinching belief. This all was made quite clear to all aspirants before initiation. Haste or impatience will be discouraging in this battle between ignorance, illusion and delusion of numerous births and attaining immortality. It will require unending patience and untiring efforts. Engage yourself in your sadhana regularly with full faith, devotion and belief.

* * * * * *

(a) The achievements and experiences of this divine power should not be used for worldly purposes or means of earnings. This will drag the aspirant back from self-realization. (b) Acute physical movements are neither essential nor alike in all the aspirants and nor the sure signs of activation of the divine power. The main aim of the Kundalini awakening by this initiation is to purify the ego, the intellect, the mind by eradication of all the worldly attachments of sensual objects and pleasures, names and forms, because these are always changeable, perishable and the coverings of the soul or the self. Self or the soul or the god-realization or the liberation is never possible without this purification by divine power. As such, a real aspirant must divert his attention to inward, draw himself totally inside the self and watch this purification carefully: as much purification, so much self-realization. : (c) Every writer writes according to his own experience and mind. Never become slave of any such writings, as those are mere guide-lines and not the ultimate truth. Follow mainly your own pure and clear experiences or guidance of your Gurudev only. Let not your mind and intellect be stuffed with whatever is not necessary for self-realization. The aspirant is mostly betrayed by the words (names) and forms which are illusive without experiences. Remember, nothing can be achieved without untiring efforts, unending patience, unflinching devotion and belief.

* * * * * *

If the mind remains busy in the calculations of gains of the Sadhana, this itself becomes impatient and the greatest hindrance. If you plant a simple tree of mango, easily available in the Market, how long you will have to take care and nourish it patiently for enjoying its fruits? You are planting a very rare and peculiar tree through your Sadhana which is will-fulfilling (Kalpavriksha) whose fruits will relieve you from all the worries along with the death and birth settling you in the supreme bliss and happiness. Now you judge yourself that how much efforts, nourishment and patience is required for such a tree and enjoying its divine fruits? Without this, neither you can progress nor can reach the highest stage of self-development. No being can stay without actions as he is bound to do it by his nature. That fact is that on the one side the actions bound and on the other side the actions liberate also. One must learn how to nullify or neutralize the actions by actions, just like that the iron is cut with the iron or a pricked thorn is taken out by the thorn itself. In the absence of this art, no one can reach the perfection. “Bhagwadgeeta” teaches this science in the best way by its deep and regular study. Ordinary mind cannot decide what is good and what is bad, as these are changeable according to the situations and the actor and the acted for. The attachment for the always changing and perishable worldly objects and subjects, irrespective of being good or bad, is the viperous cause of all the miseries, agonies and restlessness, while their detachment and abandonment or remaining neutral is the nectar full of peace and the bliss absolute. Focused mind means firm determination for some worldly purpose eradicating all other thoughts. This may be called the mesmerism which is prohibited in the spiritual Sadhana for reaching the highest stage or the supreme. If it is practiced for the search of the Self or the soul, then this will become more interesting, motivating and strengthening and will lead you to your main aim of life. Quite vacant and aware mind is the first step in the path of the knowledge of the supreme. It is just to purify and sharpen the mind and intellect to be pinpointed so that they may be easily focused on the search of the soul within the body, which is the second step.

* * * * * *

It is very good that you are doing your Saadhana regularly and studying Geeta also. Geeta mainly teaches the science of Karma (actions), the knowledge of the nature and the soul and the equanimity of the mind and intellect in order to lead the aspirant to liberation or perfection. Kundalini Yoga is not the subject of Bhagwad-Geeta. As I have made clear so many times, The Kundalini Mahaayoga is a different and rare path and is well known in the scriptures as “Siddha-Yoga or Sahaj-Yoga”. The initiated aspirant has to sit erect keeping the entire body quite loose. Then drawing the self (senses and the mind) inside, watch and experience minutely the actions of the divine power, whatever happens inside, and obey or co-operate with that only. The Kundalini Shakti acts inside on physical body or on mind and intellect or on living-force (Praana) according to the necessity of the aspirant. But being habitual of and addicted to doings or actions, he cannot desist from doing something or the other, which becomes interference in the working of divine power Kundalini, making her inactive for some time. This happens in the most of the initiates and nobody can help it, except themselves only. The experiences, such as mild pain, pleasant flow in head making the meditation enjoyable and much easier etc. written by you are the actions of divine power on your living-force (Praana). They all are automatic without any efforts of your own. You should do as mentioned above as per the advice of the related scriptures.

* * * * * *

Whatever duality apart from SELF,--good or bad, joyous or paining,--appears, changes and disappears inside or outside is false and momentary. All these dramatic scenes coming, changing and passing are illusionary without any real existence of their own, except the Self or the Soul. No wave, tide and whirlpool can exist without ocean (water), likewise nothing can exist without the self or the Soul. Those are the fruits or results of deep impressions, imprints (Samskaras, impurities) of good sad bad, vicious and virtuous deeds stored during past immemorial time sad numerous births. They come is form of memories or forcing impulse. In fact the soul has nothing to do with these all. Here it is just to remind you that you are not the body,--more a heap of flesh and bones, but you are the inseparable brightest spark or light-tower of the Supreme. But due to the ignorance of the real form of the Self,--the Soul, the Supreme,--one becomes attached and mixed with the mortal body and thereby with all these scenes, just like in a dream. Totally forgetting his reality, be becomes extremely habitual of stocking to and mixing with them and, like a habitual drinker, feels it very difficult and struggling to detach and separate the self and stay a firm witness perpetually. Yes, this is the way of cleaning and purifying the mind and intellect from all sorts of imprints and impurities (Samskaras). The Divine power,--diminishing this habitual sticking and mingling, gradually, ultimately destroy and roots out the cause of this disastrous downfall of the immortal soul. This is the first work, or working-phase of the Kundalini. The time limit for completing this tremendous and painful task depends upon one’s quantity and quality of sincerity, efforts, willingness and the imprints (Impurities, Sanskaras, Vasanas). Quite vacant (empty) and fully aware mind is the best state for a spiritual aspirant. Whenever this state comes, dive deeper and deeper into the inner-self till no more diving is possible. At the ultimate end whatever remains is the real form of the Self, --like a calm and quite waveless ocean. There you are, there I am and there is the Existence Absolute. Again you will have to struggle hard for perpetuating this state, as you are struggling now for staying firm witness. And this will be the second working-phase of the Divine Power which will be energizing, helping and guiding you through out. But this is not the all at all. Then will begin the third and the last working-phase of the Divine power Kundalini. Study of Yoga-Sutras and Sanskrit language is useful for enhancement of worldly knowledge. Any other activity like learning Pranayama, meditation, asana etc. are not beneficial for a Sadhaks of the Kundalini Yoga. Awakening of this Divine Power is said to be the ultimate gain of not only Patanjali Yoga, but all kinds of Yogas. There is difference between opinion and advice. Adviser bears some moral responsibility. To become as adviser prior to achieving own goal in spiritual field may hinder or stop the proper progress towards the goal. The hidden egos and ambitions for name and fame jump out again and again and allure to become an adviser (master or Guru) as soon as possible, like other psychic abilities. At present quite a good number of masters (Guru and Sannyasi) are of the same category. A real aspirant desirous of the union with the Supreme must be very cautious about such cravings. I hope you will become a god-realised Yogi if not betrayed by worldly attractions and not impressed or influenced by advertised so called Yogins and teachers. Your present path is much superior to any other prevailing path. As a Guru, I wish you success in your heart’s desire. My expectations for you are very high in spiritual field. With Blessings, Om Tatsat.

May you gain your goal during this present lifetime. Received your letters dated Dec. 18 & 31, 2002, which indicate that the Divine Power is well activated within you and is engaged in purifying the adulterated opposites causing innumerable dualities and miseries. Hold all the visions and phenomenon just like a lengthy dream or movie cinema called “universe”. Accumulated actions with their desires (Sanskaras) are its firms, the soul is the sun-bright reflector and the conscious — mind & intellect — is the screen. This will go on till the reality of the self is adequate i.e. moksha is attained. Therefore take all these easy and watch this movie remaining mere a conscious witness. It is said very difficult and tedious task but never impossible. Regular rigorous practice and the divine grace make it quite easy and possible. One, who realizes the presence of GURU and His divine guidance within self constantly, is the most fortunate spiritual aspirant. His perceptible letters also may help and encourage you at the times of need. As such, you need not worry. Ultimately the present illusive form of the universe will merge in the real-self, i.e. Parbrahma,--the existence, knowledge and bliss absolute. And you are also That and the same. The quite thoughtless (vacant) but fully conscious state is the real-self which is universal Omni-present existence as well. No name, form, vision, phenomenon, i.e. nothing can exist without this existence, being the base of all the adulterated illusive existences, --just like an ocean is of all the waves, tides and whirl-pools. May you become the light-tower of the spiritual yoga, knowledge and the Guru. A master or Guru must study the related books such as Geeta, Patanjali Yoga and Vedanta Darshan, Bhagwat etc. which are available in English also. Along with self-realization (Brahma-Gyan) the thorough knowledge of these subjects is essential for becoming an expert spiritual guide and/or master (Guru).

Very pleased to receive your quotation from Guru-geeta with the letter. Noted all your mentioned sweet or sour, pleasing or paining experiences carefully. These all are the highlights and glimpses of the great war between the bodily ego, ignorance, layers of impressions gathered during the numerous past births on the one side and the rigorous efforts to achieve the reality of the self i.e. the existence absolute,– covered and contaminated by the illusion or forgetfulness of the real-self,– on the other side. The ego, mind, heart, and intellect etc. are the living houses of all pairs of opposites, good or bad. And, yes, this will go on till the aspirant will remain incarnated as human and will not be seated firmly and perpetually in his real form i.e. existence, bliss and boundless ocean of pure self-luminous light and consciousness. That is to say in one word “Parampad” or fully liberated. However, I am pleased to note your experiences as these are the mile-stones showing the position of one’s spiritual journey as to how long he has travel and how long is to be travelled now. This spiritual journey is mountainous: some times on the top and some times in the trench or ditches, some times in the vast scorching desert and some times in the calm and cool ocean of peace and bliss. And this will go on till the end of journey i.e. resting in “Parampad” forever. After some time this all will begin fading gradually and the peace, bliss, omnipresence will arise from within. The spiritual-pain persists even in the self-realized souls till the slightest body-feeling remains. It is not a worldly pain, as it keeps the aspirant alert against the body-feeling and helps him in eradicating the same. So go on with your Sadhana with more and more faith, devotion and unshaken belief That thou art and will become That in the long run. All the present experiences will vanish gradually.

Received your e-mail of 15th Feb. 04 containing your inspirations and flashes in prose and poem. These are charming, sign of progress and may be inspiring to some others. But mostly these are changing and ultimately will merge in the self just like the waves in the ocean. No wave, tide or whirlpool can exist without the ocean (water). No painting or picture can exist without canvas, paper or wall. Alike nothing good or bad can exist without the self (soul). This experience beyond any doubt is called the real knowledge (self-realization). And “the self is the akin, one and the same, with the universal knowledge, consciousness and the bliss absolute”—this unshakable experience is called the realization of the supreme god (Parmatma). This is the liberation (Moksha), the goal of human life. There are a lot of obstacles, pitfalls, illusions and delusions caused by the rewards of our previous actions (Samskar) in attaining liberation. All these rewards are stored in our causal body (clearly experienced during deep sleep) as seeds, sprout out in shape of memories and compel us to act according to their respective nature. These are to be controlled bravely, with firm determination, patience, abandonment, discrimination, devotion, belief etc. virtuous qualities. At first divert and convert them to be virtuous only and then they will merge in the divinity (the self or the soul) gradually.

The scorpion stings the body and the pain caused by it is the physical matter,–never of the soul at all. As much the attachment with the body or physical identity, so much the pain, restlessness because of the ignorance of forgetting the soul or the real self, which is absolutely far away from these all. The ultimate goal of spirituality is to realize the Real Self: the soul or Parbrahma Parmaatmaa: which is perpetual bliss and ever untainted. Though He is reflecting or residing inside, yet is totally beyond this perishable body, a heap of flesh and bones. There may be three kinds of human beings. The worst are having deep darkness of body-identity only, having never known or even heard about the soul. They can do any wrong or cruellest deed or commit any worse sin in favour of their body and sensual pleasures. The better ones are those who are although imprisoned and confined to the body, yet have heard and believed the soul and the god. They may see others alike the self. Their minds and actions change according to the situations being faced or ahead, in the light of their imprints. They act according to the prevailing religious or social customs and has become necessary and unavoidable in favour of the self and the others. The best are the self-realized persons who have experienced the falsity of this world, of the all names and forms, of all the worldly possessions and rest in the Self i.e. the supreme soul or Parmaatmaa. Their piercing ascetic vision crossing the body rests at the soul only. They don't identify any body, may be mosquito, scorpion, lion or deity, apart from the all-pervading super soul. They need not to commit any cruelty of destroying or killing any living being.

It is very difficult to find a genuine aspirant for Shaktipat Initiation. This is also not easy to prepare the deserving aspirants by mere advice without the grace of the Lord Himself on him, because the spirituality has become extremely rare in present dark materialistic world. Your opinion about initiation is fully agreeable. Instead of immediate decision about initiation, wait and watch is better policy. The sting by a scorpion is extremely burning and painful. I have experienced it very well with a keen intention of self-examination. This is a very adequate test for the quality and quantity of our endurance, strength of physical identity and ego. We can judge and estimate the percentage of our attachment with the body as to how far we are steadfast in our real form “ATMA”, which is the main aim of our sadhana i.e. to become the perpetual Real Self totally apart from this perishable body. I have met some ascetics who got scorpion stings intentionally for this purpose only. This is one of the best ways for testing our divine wisdom.

The present state will change and will become more and more refined in due course of Sadhana. You are not only the witness but the only base also of all that whatever is within the reach of the senses including the mind, intellect and ego as well. The inertia (Jadta) practiced for a very long period in meditation is still reflecting on your Shakshi-bhaava. In reality, Shakshi is the form of Parabrahma Himself, pervading not only in our bodies but in this whole universe. It is neither a subject of practice and nor an object to be seen. This is the real form of the soul and the self along with all the tides of thoughts, notions, senses, mind, intellect and ego etc. will merge in the same at the stage of Parampada or Moksha. If something red like fire does not heat and burn, that can never be the fire. Likewise something appearing like Shakshi but does not have the qualities of Parbrahma, cannot be Shakshi. It will take time to understand this reality. Do your Sadhana as instructed here many times. Do not become so impatient. Have unflinching faith, devotion and belief. Rome was not built in a day. Rest is all well.

Good and virtuous actions are better than all other bad or ordinary acts of the world. The worship and devotion of manifested god or deities with their qualities (Saguna Brahma) is much more superior to all the acts of the world. The meditation on non manifested (Nirguna) Parmaatmaa is much better than that worship and devotion. But Vichaar is the best of all the above. The best achievement and boon of the lord is the “Vichaar”. This will be becoming more and more sharper or stronger and brighter. This will reveal all the secrets of secrets, the realities of all the objects, the world crowded with the names and the forms, the exclusive nature, the self, and ultimately the Supreme who is one and only. This is the Divine light which will enlighten the path in the darkest regions of the spiritual path. This is called “Amaanava-Purusha” i.e. formless (non manifested) superman (deity) who escorts up the aspirant till his merger in the Supreme or absolute liberation (Moksha). This “Vichaar” is said the blazing fire for burning the thick veils of the ignorance, the shining sun light for removing the darkness of illusions and delusions and very strong antidote to all the effects of adverse vision (Maayaa).

You are running the dawn of the realization or liberated life (Jeevan-mukti). The feelings of equanimities are the good and natural signs for the same, just as the redness (Usha) before the rising sun. Such feelings and experiences will go on increasing and being clearer. The palpitations may occur in any part of the body irrespective of Chakras. These are mostly soothing and pleasing drawing sure attention of the self in side.

Comedies and tragedies, pleasures and pains have been occurring in this universe and every life since time immemorial. Nobody can help it with his limited trifling power. But there are some finger-countable blest fortunate who remain totally unaffected and not shattered by such pairs of opposites. Existence is Sat- Seer and seen, experiencer and experienced, inert and alert appear quite different from each other causing duality. The mixing of the both is due to the ignorance of the common reality of the both i.e. the existence absolute. The Supreme Chit Ananda Parbrahma Parmatma who is one and one only, far away from all sorts of dualities and the only existence holding all existences. Every spiritual aspirant will have to realize and experience Him completely for reaching the ultimate goal of Sadhana and human birth i.e. Parampada Moksha. It is not possible so far as duality exists in our intellects.

This is in response to your detailed letter mentioning your super natural experiences and seeking my guidance. I have been elucidating about such experiences in my letters and the discourses tape-recorded by you time to time. These all are like the mile-stones of our journey from Jeeva-bhaava to Brahma-bhaava which may be called by so many other names of own choice like Moksha, Parampada, self-realization, Parmaatmasaakshaatkaar, Nirvaan, liberation, freedom from birth and death and so on, so forth. Such experiences are on the three levels or grounds. First is on mental (Manas) ground which is dream-like temporary, changing and cheap because the mind has the powers of such creations by mere imaginations. Second is on intellectual (Buddhi) ground which is more stable and helping in our spiritual journey being based on subtle and solid thinking. And the third is based on the ground of the bare self only which is called the realization based on the unity with the reality and called the self-realization. These are mostly based on the quantity and quality of body-ego. As much the body-ego diminishes or becomes purified, so much the experiences also are purified, real and stable. The aspirant must inspect and examine the self minutely at every step of progress avoiding all sorts of ego carefully. Ultimately, at the end, all these three: (i) one who experiences, (ii) the experience itself and (iii) whatever is experienced, i.e. everything apart from the self: become one and the same. This is called the destination of the spiritual journey described by in numerous names and forms by different religious faiths and paths prevailing in the universe. All other naturals and super naturals are the stoppages of the spiritual journey. Any devotee or disciple may speak any high about his preceptor or Guru, (which he should), but if even a instinct of mortal body-ego remains alive, there are chances of downfall from any stage of Saadhana. As such, this path is said to be the walking on the sharpened edges of the sword and one should always be very cautious of illusions, delusions and pitfalls. May the Almighty Lord bless all His real devotees with his choicest blessings and reveal His real form in their hearts!

As I have already written in my earlier letter, you are being rewarded by the Almighty Lord Himself for your sincere spiritual quest and the qualities which you have earned yourself. I am only tool or a mean in His hands. He is always mine and I am always in Him, being one and the same in reality. There is nothing more than this about me and never be perplexed for anything because you are also the same,--never the less. I need or love nothing in this world more than the real aspirants and devotees of the Lord starving for His realization (Darshan). I am extremely happy to know that you are experiencing the high state of spiritual Sadhana. If the mind disappears and consciousness dives deeper than the intellect in the divine light, being freed from words and forms, this is the best state worth maintaining by practice till it becomes perpetual. This is described as “Savikalpa Samaadhi” in scriptures. May you enjoy this as your natural state dwelling in yourself!
